Welcome to my classroom #22!
I am very excited to be your child’s teacher. The opportunity to teach your child is a responsibility I take very seriously. I am looking forward to learning more about each student, their interests, and personalities.
Second grade will be a year of lots of growth physically, emotionally and educationally. I know with your help, we will make this a successful and fun year of learning for your child!
Best,
Mrs. Jones
Important Dates:
Aug. 18 First Day of School 8:14 - 1:25
Aug. 19 Minimum Day 1:25 dismissal
Sept. 8 Back to School Night 6:30 - 7:30
Sept. 8 and 9 Picture Day (Schedule to come)
Homework Policy:
HOMEWORK WILL NOT GO HOME UNTIL AFTER BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT SEPT. 8
Home work will go home every Monday and is returned to me on Fridays. If there is no homework assigned, you will get a note or email from me. To help teach responsibility the kids are not allowed to call home for a parent to bring it in. I will tell the class their parents have already done 2nd grade homework, so it's the student's responsibility to do the homework and turn it in on time. If it is not turned in on time, they will be benched. I usually don't bench them if it's the first missed homework. (If there is a problem, late practice, illness etc. just send in a note telling me why it is missing.) The homework will begin with math fact practice and reading nightly.
Please send in the packet with your signature on Friday.
Please keep reading with your child nightly.

your child's password is their initials
Scholastic Book Orders Will start after the school book fair in November.
This is a great way to encourage reading. Let your child pick a book or two and they will be excited to read it when the order comes. You may order on line: my code is HR34ZL or send in the order to me with cash or a check made out to Scholastic books that Friday.
Can Do!
Please make any donation even $20 and it counts ass class participation!
Please make any donation you can afford.
Remember that the $ pays for our wonderful Art, P.E. Tech Lab and Music programs. We still need 7 families to make a donation. It can be as small as $5. The class with the most participation gets an extra P.E. class.
Birthday Celebrations. Please do not send in any type of treat.
We will celebrate your child's birthday by singing to your child and I will give them a birthday pencil and they get the Birthday Bear for the day.
Invitations, according to school policy are not to be sent to school. This helps avoid hurt feelings.
Thanks for your support,
Mrs. Jones
